June was pretty uneventful, we mostly stayed close to home and did normal Summer things.  Most days you could find the boys in the backyard doing this:

One day we randomly decided to go up to the Copper Mine.  Neither one of us had been up there in a looooong time.  It was fun to show the boys where both of their Grandpas and Great-Grandpas had worked.

The boys also finished their soccer season. Soccer was an interesting experience. It seemed like at every game one or both of the boys would be in tears at some point during the game. It's amazing how much you can learn about their personalities just by watching them on the field. Spencer, who is a bit of a control freak, would get upset because people weren't following the rules, weren't giving him enough time and space to kick the ball the way he wanted to do it, and he would get frustrated if he wasn't the fastest or didn't score a goal. Carter on the other hand would meltdown if anyone got in his way. He surprised me at how aggressive he was at going after the ball, sometimes too aggressive. I think teamwork is a life lesson we need a little more work on. Despite the ups and downs I think the boys had fun, and in the end they got medals. I had no idea just how cool they would think these medals were, they were so proud! I love the wide-eyed wonderment of this age, the simplest things make them so happy. Carter got a laugh out of everyone when he excitedly told the coach, "Wow, thanks for making me such a cool medal!" Love these boys!!
