Christmas!!

I was so excited for Christmas this year.  The boys are at such a fun age where everything is so exciting and magical to them, I love this age.  I knew Christmas was going to be an awesome day and I was right.  The boys were so cute, they loved every minute.  Christmas eve we put out cookies for Santa and carrots for the reindeer.  Matt also read The Night Before Christmas from the same book that my dad used to read to us.

 Before the madness.

Christmas morning Carter woke up first.  It was so cute to watch his face as he remembered what day it was and that Santa had come.  He ran downstairs and I thought his eyes were going to bug out of his head.  He then ran back into his bedroom to wake up Spencer - so cute!  Spencer was funny because he didn't want to get up and told Carter to come back later because he needed more rest.  After a minute reality hit him and he jolted out of bed.  It was a whirlwind of activity after that.

After everything was open and everyone was dressed and fed I found a note from Santa telling the boys that they had one more gift that was too big to fit under the tree so he left it out in the garage.

The rest of the day was packed with both sets of my grandparents houses, my parents house and Matt's dad's house.  By the end of the day we were all glad to get back home and relax.
It was a super fun Christmas, I don't know if it will get any better then this.

December 2010

Trying to get a picture of the boys in front of the tree started out rough, but we ended up getting a decent shot.

We had a fun night making these cute cupcakes with the boys.
We took the boys and their friend to see Zoo Lights with my parents and sister.  It was fun, but it was cold.  The boys got to see real reindeer and sit on Santa's lap, very exciting stuff.  It was so exciting in fact that we all sat on Santa's lap.  My mom even gave him a kiss.  She also provided all of the santa hats which got us a lot of attention.

We had our annual cookie making day at my mom's house with my grandma, sister, cousin Jen, aunt and uncle.  It's always fun to spend time with family, especially when there are cookies involved.

We also went up to Matt's dad's house to make gingerbread houses.  It was a fun night!

November 2010

November brought the first really big snow storm of the year, which is always exciting when you're a kid. The excitement tends to fade when you're a grown up and you (or Matt in my case) have to shovel it all.

The boys talked Matt into building a snowman.  When they were finished they came running into the house all excited to decorate their snowman.  Disappointment followed when they realized that I didn't have anything on hand to decorate a snowman with.  Later that day they were very excited to see that a "phantom" (aka Grandma and Grandpa) had come and magically decorated their snowman.  I wish our picture had turned out better, but it was freezing so we just snapped it quick and ran back inside.
 Caught sleeping on the job.
These pictures just make me smile.  Apparently my mom is trying to make the boys more culturally competent by teaching them to eat waffles with chopsticks.

For Thanksgiving this year the boys and I made place cards.  It's always fun to get a little crafty with the boys.

They turned out so cute!  Too bad we are slackers and didn't take any pictures on Thanksgiving day, they sure made the table cute!
