School

School has started for me again. Ugh. This means all of my "free" time will be spent reading, writing papers, doing projects, taking care of the boys, and everything else in my life gets neglected - my house, myself, this blog, etc. I've been told third semester of hygiene school is the hardest so I've been dreading it all summer, but now I'm ready to dive in and get it over with. The boys have adjusted well to me being gone, which has made things easier on me, but it's hard to be away from my little buddies so much. Luckily Matt is with them for most of the day, but that means that he and I don't see much of each other during the week. Matt has been great this past week keeping the house clean, taking care of the boys, and doing whatever he can to make my life easier - he even surprised me and had our carpets cleaned. He is so supportive of me as always, there is no way I could get through this without him.
So here we go again, 2 semesters down, 2 to go. If it goes by as fast as it did last year I will be done in no time.

The Aviary

A few weeks ago Matt participated in a community service project at Tracy Aviary. I had forgotten the aviary even exsisted, I don't think I've been there since my last elementary field trip (whenever that was). We decided to take the boys there and check it out. They do a free bird show that we went to and I knew it was a mistake the minute we sat down and they said that no one should stand during the show because there would be birds flying low over our heads. Well, the boys weren't that impressed with the show and were restless about 5 minutes into it. It was a looong 30 minutes for us. I thought I was going to have to crawl out of there dragging the two of them with me. The rest of the day was better though, and I think the boys really enjoyed the birds.

A tree that Matt helped plant.

The Aquarium

These are a couple of pictures of our trip to the Aquarium on Friday. The boys really liked it, and were of course too busy to look at the camera for me to snap a picture. Carter was really fascinated by the jelly fish and kept wanting to go back and look at them. As we were looking at them I had to laugh at the conversation we had.
Carter: What's that Mommy?
Me: Those are jelly fish (for the tenth time).
Carter: Yeah, jelly fish, good job Mommy.
It made me laugh because that's what I always say to him when he answers a question I ask him right. These guys crack me up!

This is what Carter and Spencer were doing one day while I was trying to take a quick shower - smearing mascara all through Carter's hair. I've never put mascara in my hair so I'm not sure where they got the idea, but I'm actually glad they didn't try to put it on their eyelashes. Spencer was up early one morning so he and I made 'faffles' together. He officially knows all I know about cooking.
I just thought this was funny. I forgot to start the dishwashwer one night so we had no clean dishes in the morning for cereal. Watching Carter eat his cereal out of this bowl was making me laugh.
I got a little reality check the other day. We were over at my parent's house getting ready to leave and Spencer wanted me to watch him ride his bike before we left. Carter was being really impatient so I gave him my keys to play with. There is a button on the key to pop open the very back door which Carter pushed Then he climbed up into the car, made his way to the driver's seat, put the key in the ignition and started the car, all in about 30 seconds time. Luckily I was right there, but I was so surprised that he knew how to do that. I guess they are paying more attention to what we do and say than I realize. Scary!

4th of July

We had a lot of fun on the 4th but I never posted pics of the day. We went to my Grandma's house in which is right on the route of the good 'ol Magna parade. When there were breaks between parade entries my mom would load the boys up in the wagon and walk down the road having the boys throw candy to the parade watchers. It's her goal for them to be in the Magna parade every year, and she's been successful so far. It took some convincing for the boys to throw candy to other people though, they didn't quite see the fun in that.

Feeding the Ducks

We went with Aunt Shelly today to feed the ducks. The boys had a great time and as we were leaving Spencer was saying, "See-ya later ducks!" as he was waving goodbye. Carter was of course kicking and screaming because he didn't want to leave and poor Shelly had to drag him back to the car.

I'm not sure why this video gets blurry at some points, but it's still cute!

Random Cuteness

These are just random pics of everyday life with the boys.

Double Trouble: Time out times two.Spencer and Carter were running from opposite sides of our backyard towards the same ball and smashed into each other at full speed. Spencer walked away without a scratch on him, and Carter ended up with his first black eye.
My children are so deprived. This is the first time in their short two years on this earth that they have been able to lick the beaters......Mommy doesn't bake much!
